Prof Dr V.Prithiviraj B.E (CEG), M.S(IIT-M), Ph.D(IIT- Kgp) Groomed at leading Institutions like College of Engineering, Guindy, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras his career from being an engineering student enthusiast to an academic head has followed a distinctive trend – from Electronics and Communication to Satellite Communication featuring applications of RF and Microwave Engg in Broadband and Wireless Communication.
His allied research and industrial interests include SDR, Cognitive Radio, Telemedicine, Chaotic Cryptography, Context-Aware Systems, e- Governance, Internet of Things, Drones applied to EM Radiation Monitoring
He has more than 3 decades of teaching experience and over 12 years of research and development experience between the two IITs in the fields of RF and microwave engineering. This has enabled him to ensure that students not only received strong academic and laboratory training but also excellent industrial trial exposure and quality placements. In his various capacities as Professor, Dean, and Principal Prof Prithviraj ensured that the Institutions he worked for namely Pondicherry Engg College, Pondicherry University, Indian Institute of Technology, Manipal Institute of Technology Directorate of Information Technology, received prestigious projects and grants including Industry Institute Interactions, Industrial Training and Internships for the benefit of the students to the maximum extent
On the academic front, he has over 110 research publications and has guided 4 Ph.D and 44 M.Tech Scholars, and has filed for two patents. He was an expert member for Aicte Southern and South Western regions for over 4 years and an NBA member for 3 years. He was appointed as an expert member for monitoring Info French international project in the area of Information Technology. Govt of Puducherry has recently appointed him as Chairman, CSR for upskilling 20000 students from 21 Govt Colleges to obtain better employability and as an advisory member for monitoring the Puducherry Smart City project in the ICT domain
He is the recipient of an IEEE International award in the year 1984 at MIT Manipal and obtained the ISTE Lifetime award in the year 2018 at Salem for his contribution to Technical Education as a Professor from an Engineering College.
